Covid and the Aftermath...

I am sure that I will speak for many of you, in my mind Covid had a huge impact on not just the society and community, or our communication skills, but it had a detrimental effect on our mental and emotional well-being.
It affected not just a few, but it affected anyone and everyone on some deep level.
Lockdown really brought many to their knees, be it due to loss of health, loss due to bereavement, financial loss and so on.
Although it was said that there will be support for vulnerable people, it was all very much a hit and miss. I was caring for my late husband at the time, and I never felt so alone, and I was literally alone.
I was only one of hundreds of thousands , and I can only imagine how much suffering people went through.
Now though, we have the aftermath, and everyone has to pick up the pieces to hopefully be able to move forward again.
The suicide rate has gone through the roof, and so many are suffering extreme mental anguish and depression.
Domestic violence has increased and is at an all-time high. It is all very much a scary prospect, but we as a society will pull through, because we have no other choice.
There are so very many though who are not able to move on without that extra support, and this is where psychotherapy , coaching and counselling comes into it’s own, it is a vital service which is available to all.
 
And yes this is where our pets would have played a huge part in our well-being, they would have been a reason to get up in the morning, the reason to look after ourselves, otherwise we would not have been able to do right by them.
So if we now then lose our incredible important part of our lives, the grief we will feel is so immense and incomprehensible,  that the pain can be unimaginable.
